What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and home street address. We use this information to verify you live in our neighborhood and to provide community features.

How we use your information

Your information is used to operate the Magnolia Village community platform. This includes displaying your profile to other verified neighbors (based on your privacy settings), sending notifications you have opted into, and enabling community features like chat and the neighborhood directory.

SMS messaging

If you opt in to SMS notifications, we will send text messages about community updates based on your preferences. You control which categories trigger SMS from your Settings page.

We do not share or sell your mobile opt-in data or phone number to any third parties.

Message frequency varies based on community activity and your notification preferences. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from all SMS notifications.

How residents opt in to SMS

Magnolia Village is a private, members-only neighborhood platform. SMS is off by default, and this is the only way to opt in. There are no other opt-in methods, no purchased lists, and no automatic enrollment. A resident creates an account, is verified as living in the neighborhood by the admin, opens the Settings page, adds their own mobile number, and turns on the SMS toggle (unchecked by default) for the categories they choose. The opt-in control shows this consent language:

By turning on SMS for a channel, you agree to receive text messages from Magnolia Village for that category, sent to the mobile number on your profile. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.

Because the opt-in happens inside a verified resident account, the screenshot below shows the exact SMS opt-in toggles and consent language as a resident sees them on the Settings page:

What we never do

  • We never sell your data to anyone
  • We never share your information outside the Magnolia Village community
  • We never use your data for advertising
  • We never share SMS opt-in data with third parties

Your privacy controls

You decide what other neighbors can see. From your Settings page you can show or hide your phone number, email address, street address, and household members. You can also control which notification channels send you SMS.

Deleting your account

You can deactivate your account from your Settings page at any time. This removes your profile from the directory and stops all notifications. Contact the admin if you want your data permanently deleted.
